Start of Avalor AI
Maurits and Jeroen met each other while working in the newly formed Robotics and Autonomous Systems unit of the Dutch military. With a shared desire to make real operational impact in robotics, they chose to found a company together in Amsterdam. Soon they were joined by Marc as third co-founder, who brought his expertise in simulation environments.

From the office to the field
The company secured its first contracts for testing its NEXUS C2 software during operational exercises, marking the next phase of product maturity.
JAN 2024
Winning challenge in our first hackathon in Ukraine
NEXUS won its first hackathon in Kyiv, Ukraine, demonstrating its capabilities in a swarming challenge. This provided the groundwork for a local Ukrainian network.
MAR 2024
First trade mission to Ukraine with Minister of Defence Ollongren
The company joined a small delegation from the Dutch defence industry during the first Dutch trade mission to Ukraine.
JUNE 2024
€2M Seed investment from Keen
Product development reached a new acceleration speed thanks to backing from Keen Venture Partners.
NOV 2024
Awarded first operational contract
NEXUS secured its first operational contract for deployment in Ukraine, marking a transition from experimentation to real-world use on the battlefield.
May 2025
Ukraine office opened
With NEXUS being used in the frontline, interest from Ukrainian defence companies rises quickly. A Ukrainian office is opened with a dedicated local team.
JULY 2025
Avalor AI becomes Intelic
A new name and new brand is introduced, to reflect the company’s commitment to Purposeful Intelligence: Artificial Intelligence developed intentionally to maintain human agency and decision-making.
MAY 2026
Europe’s first procurement hub
Intelic launched Intelic BASE, the first digital procurement hub for unmanned systems that are already integrated with NEXUS. Intelic BASE is centered around interoperability and brings forward a vision of coalition-readiness for the continent. Governments can now scale their UAV fleets faster utilizing NEXUS, and actively grow European sovereignty.
July 2026
€30M+ contract with Dutch Ministry of Defence
Intelic partners with the Dutch Ministry of Defence to develop NEXUS into the software foundation of the military’s unmanned systems ecosystem. With this, the Dutch government became the first to place software at the center of its defence procurement.
