Job description
Field Support Engineer
Location:
Ukraine
Type:
Fulltime
In today’s world of constant global security challenges, innovation in defense is no luxury. After years of budget cuts, military personnel need to train and work with inadequate and insufficient equipment. We have an opportunity to change that.
At Intelic, we are a group of highly committed professionals building one of the fastest-growing start-ups based in Amsterdam. We create advanced software for unmanned systems in the defense sector. As a software company at our core, we build intelligence that gives unmanned platforms the speed, coordination and reliability that critical missions demand. Our technology ensures that decisions are made with accuracy when it matters most.
Responsibilities
Intelic is strengthening its presence in Ukraine by building trusted relationships with key partners and military end users. To support this mission, we are looking for a Field Support Engineer who will work directly with Ukrainian military stakeholders and partners, ensuring the reliable deployment, integration, and frontline support of Intelic’s solutions in Ukraine.
You will enable military end-users and partners to operate effectively by serving as the critical technical link between end users and partners in Ukraine and the development team in the Netherlands.
The role is field-oriented, full-time with a flexible schedule, and requires frequent travel across Ukraine. You will report to the Customer Success Lead and act as a local extension of the Netherlands-based development and customer success teams.
In practice, this means:
• Provide Level 1 technical support to partners and end-users (hardware/software issues, deployment support).
• Deploy and integrate Intelic’s solutions on-site (no coding required).
• Configure local systems, radios, and networks to ensure smooth integration.
• Support onboarding and limited field training of end-users and partners (train-the-trainer model).
• Conduct field testing and quality assurance together with military and technical partners.
• Document issues, fixes, and field learnings for internal feedback and improvement loops.
• Act as a local extension of the Netherlands-based development and customer success teams.
• Coordinate and report progress across key checkpoints (e.g., testing, deployments).
• Stay in regular communication with headquarters, providing timely updates.
What You Will Bring
• Ukrainian citizenship or legal right to work in Ukraine.
• Technical education (engineering, IT, telecommunications, etc.).
• Strong troubleshooting experience with radios, networks, and deployment issues.
• Proven experience in working with UxV’s.
• High motivation and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Willingness to work in conflict zones and under dynamic field conditions.
• Readiness for irregular working hours, including possible weekend duties.
• Ability to work independently and maintain composure under pressure.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and hands-on technical skills.
• Valid driving license (category B).
• Fluent in the Ukrainian language.
• English proficiency (written and spoken) at an intermediate level.
• Prior experience in the defense sector, humanitarian missions, or field operations.
• Familiarity with GIS tools, telemetry systems, or network troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Linux, embedded systems, or remote hardware management.
• Prior collaboration with NGOs, military units, or international partners.
This includes:
• Intelic’s solutions are reliably deployed and integrated with partners and military end-users in Ukraine.
• Technical issues are resolved efficiently in the field, minimizing downtime and operational risk.
• End-users and partners are effectively onboarded and supported through train-the-trainer enablement.
• Field testing and deployments are executed smoothly in coordination with military and technical partners.
• Clear documentation and structured feedback loops continuously improve product quality and deployment practices.
• Headquarters receives timely, accurate updates from the field, enabling effective coordination and decision-making.
