Job description

HR manager

Location:

Amsterdam - Netherlands

Type:

Fulltime

In today’s world of constant global security challenges, innovation in defense is no luxury. After years of budget cuts, military personnel need to train and work with inadequate and insufficient equipment. We have an opportunity to change that.

At Intelic, we are a group of highly committed professionals building one of the fastest-growing start-ups based in Amsterdam. We create advanced software for unmanned systems in the defense sector. As a software company at our core, we build intelligence that gives unmanned platforms the speed, coordination and reliability that critical missions demand. Our technology ensures that decisions are made with accuracy when it matters most.

Responsibilities

As Intelic continues its rapid growth, we are looking for an HR Manager who thrives in building people operations from the ground up. You will be the go-to person for all HR-related topics, shaping a solid foundation for how we recruit, engage, and support our teams as we scale. You will take ownership of people operations, ensuring our teams are supported, our leaders are equipped, and our organization is ready for scale.

In practice, this means:

• Designing, improving, and scaling HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and compensation & benefits.

• Advising leadership and team leads on people strategy, employee engagement, and organizational structure.

• Acting as the trusted contact for employees, balancing individual needs with company goals.

• Ensuring compliant and well-documented HR policies aligned with Dutch labor law.

• Selecting and rolling out HR tools that enable efficient, scalable people operations.

• Using HR data and insights to inform decision-making and business strategy.

What You Will Bring

You are an HR professional who thrives in fast-growing environments where not everything is defined yet. You enjoy creating clarity from ambiguity and building structures that help people and teams succeed. With a people-first mindset and a balance of pragmatism and strategic thinking, you know how to support employees while guiding leadership through the challenges of growth. At Intelic, you will play a key role in shaping both our culture and our HR foundation as we enter our next phase.

This includes:

• Proven HR management experience in a fast-growing company, ideally in tech or start-up environments.

• Strong knowledge of Dutch employment law and HR compliance.

• The ability to design and implement scalable HR processes from scratch.

• Excellent communication and advisory skills to guide leadership and team leads.

• A balance of empathy and business acumen, making you both approachable and effective.

• Fluency in English (Dutch is a strong plus).

What Success Looks Like in Your First Year

• A clear HR framework and set of policies are in place, ensuring compliance and scalability.

• Onboarding, feedback & evaluation processes run smoothly, supporting our growth towards 70+ employees.

• Employees feel supported, engaged, and confident in HR as a trusted point of contact.

• Leadership has clear HR insights to make informed people and organizational decisions.
