Job description

Security Engineer

Security Engineer

Location:

Amsterdam - Netherlands

Type:

Fulltime

Intelic builds Nexus: a command and control platform for unmanned systems operating in contested environments.

Our software coordinates autonomous systems across unstable networks, degraded GPS conditions, and off-grid deployments. We work directly with defense organizations and operators to build software that keeps functioning when conditions are at their worst.

We are looking for a Security Engineer to help secure the platform, infrastructure, and engineering workflows behind Nexus.

What you will do

You work directly with engineers to improve the security of our systems and development platform. This includes:

• Helping engineering teams build secure-by-default systems

• Threat modeling distributed and autonomous systems

• Hardening infrastructure and containerized environments

• Securing CI/CD and software supply chains

• Detecting abnormal or malicious behavior

• Improving operational security visibility and response

You will work on systems that

• Operate off-grid

• Communicate over unstable links

• Run in contested environments

• Cannot rely on perfect infrastructure or connectivity

What we are looking for

We are looking for an engineer with strong systems thinking and a pragmatic mindset. We value engineering capability and operational thinking over certifications.

You likely have experience with:

• Application or infrastructure security

• Linux, Windows and container security

• Cloud or on-prem environments

• CI/CD and DevSecOps

• Observability and detection

• Secure software architecture

How we work

• We build fast, iterate continuously, and solve difficult technical problems together

• You will work in a team with Software Engineers and DevOps Engineers, and validate your security work directly in the field with drone operators

• Security at Intelic is part of engineering, not a separate gatekeeping function

Why Intelic

• The systems we build matter

• You will work on technology used in real operational environments with direct impact on European defense and autonomy capabilities

• We care about engineering quality; ownership; fast feedback loops; pragmatic decision making; and building robust systems under real-world constraints

What we offer

• Stock Appreciation Rights programme

• A vibrant office at NDSM Plein, Amsterdam Noord — where we come together in person every day

• Flexible pension plan

• 25 vacation days

• Travel allowance

• Urban Sports corporate membership

• Lease a Bike option

We look forward to receiving your application and getting to know you. If you have any questions, please contact our recruiter Liliia at liliia@intelic.ai.
