The Operational Readiness Framework (ORF) is our structured approach to continuous product development and delivery in defence technology for unmanned systems. It lies at the core of our development approach, ensuring we provide products updated according to the latest developments on the battlefield.
Unlike commercial markets with controlled testing environments and predictable feedback intervals, our end-users are soldiers operating under the immediate pressures of active conflict. This reality demands a fundamentally different approach. The ORF ensures our systems are reliable, effective and deeply aligned with real operational needs.
At the heart of the ORF lies a combined commitment: delivering high-quality, battle-ready systems that make an immediate difference, while continuously learning from users and incorporating their frontline experience into our development cycle. This creates a feedback loop tying innovation directly to combat-proven practice, embodying both speed and resilience, because the battlefield doesn’t wait and every release must be dependable under harsh conditions.
The framework rests on two complementary domains. In forward areas, our local Ukrainian operations team establishes direct presence with partner units. These engagements allow us to capture insights no lab could replicate, whether refining user experience, countering new jamming systems, or stress-testing. The soldiers we work with are co-developers whose experiences directly shape our product's evolution.
In parallel, our work with the Dutch Ministry of Defence and future international partners provides the innovation foundation sustaining this cycle. In this more structured environment, we consolidate lessons from forward deployments, translating frontline tactics, techniques, and procedures into training material, system improvements and advice. This ensures innovation is not just reactive but forward-looking, preparing forces with realistic capabilities grounded in direct battlefield lessons.
The ORF operates as a living ecosystem: innovation, research, and development feed into the cycle, are implemented and stress-tested with forward-deployed units, then return operational insights to our team.
